Our trip is looming closer, Thursday May 1 is the day we are heading out. Annie is Tour Director and Don Chief Driver and Scout. Our plans are to head to Hill End first, then across to Hay to catch up with Annie's relatives, next Mildura and from there to the Flinders Ranges and Wilpenna Pound.
The above is a rough plan for the first stage, from there it's up the Oodnadatta Track as far as Leigh Creek then head west to Coober _Pedy and the Red Centre.
It's been all systems go here for quite a few weeks for Don, as he has added and altered the van and FJ Cruiser to suit us and our needs. Annie has Finally sewn the new curtains for the van (after a lot of procrastinating) and the upholstery in the van has a facelift with new fabric. So inside its looking pretty
smick and fresh. Even poor Lucky has had to get involved. He has an appointment for a cut and blowdry prior to his holiday at Kempsey with Scott,
Melissa and clan.
The calendar is chockers with appointments and the lists of things to do keep getting longer. But I dare say, there will be no dramas, everything will be done in time and 1st May will see us heading up the drive towards our big adventure.
I'm looking forward to the trip with excitement and Don is probably looking forward to the last item on his list, as well as exploring and seeing what a wonderful, colourful country we live in.
